A mixed media artist, Rahja has for years experimented with media that most wouldn’t even dare try. This time, leather, paint, jewels, crystals, mirrors and her love of tooling and sculpting has come together for functional art. Her one-of-a-kind pieces serve a purpose that speak volumes when worn out.
Rahja has found a love in art all of her life, working in media’s that can be and are rare. From Henna mud to textiles, from pen & ink in the most tedious of ways, she continues to create art that most have defined as ‘mind-numbing’ but amazingly detailed. Most of Rahja’s work does not expand a canvas that takes two to carry it, but can be found in a normal and very compact size. Each one, given timeless dedication, attention and care to provide the most eloquent details. These masks are no exception.
